Wooden houses in timber frame construction
Timber frame construction features a load-bearing timber beam framework generally planked and braced with wooden panels or plasterboard. Thermal insulation is placed between the inner and outer planking; whereby various insulating materials may be used e.g. cork, rockwool etc. Very good insulation values are achieved with timber frame construction despite the low wall thickness. The layout of the house including the window and door openings can be designed individually.
There are no limits to the interior and exterior design of the walls. Weather boarding is a good match with a timber frame house, but there are also many other possible facades.
